There are times in our lives where we find ourselves in a place that seems to be dry, it seems to be lonely, it seems to be so quiet that even the silence is too loud. This is the time where we begin to question life, our past, our dreams and our purpose. Sometimes during this dormant season we even tend to feel unaccomplished, that we are wasting time and that we have missed the mark.
May I suggest to you, to look at the dormant season in a different way. Look at the dormant season as God's way of preparing you for your next. He is preparing you for your next shift, your next open door, your next opportunity and the next season of your life. It's in these moments where God secludes you, to speak to you. It’s in these moments where he wants you to reflect and re-adjust yourself before the next season starts.
For example, when a farmer plants a seed, it’s during this dormant season, that to the outside looking in; nothing is happening. There aren't any sprouts, any signs of growth or even life. However, underneath the ground, roots are taking place, the seed is transforming into the plant that it's supposed to become.
Yes, during this season it is dark, quiet, nothing seems to be happening; but character is being built, faith is strengthening, your spirit is adjusting, your mind is being transformed, and God is ultimately taking the seeds from your last season and putting it in the posture to grow and blossom in the next. Be encouraged, that this dormant season is not a loss; but preparation for gain. Don’t allow fear, and an idle mind to cause you to miss what God has next for you.
Dormancy is time to reflect, re-adjust, prepare, grow and get ready to sprout! Take this moment and get ready!
